Principal’s Address

Scoil Mhuire

Principal’s Address:

I am privileged to lead a team devoted to the betterment of pupils entrusted to our care. Time and again I find myself humbled by the care and dedication of our wonderful staff. They give generously of their time, energy and expertise and genuinely care for our pupils. In the true spirit of Nano Nagle, foundress of the Presentation Sisters, they go “one step beyond.”

In Scoil Mhuire gan Smál, we aim to cultivate a pleasant, safe environment populated by happy, affirmed pupils and staff where all are valued and respected. To achieve this, we:

  • Promote tolerant, respectful, inclusive relationships in our school community.
  • Have high expectations of all.
  • Pursue academic excellence.
  • Nurture and develop each child’s potential and personality.
  • Promote collaboration among staff.
  • Promote numeracy, literacy, e-learning and a love of Gaeilge.
  • Maintain current good practice while embracing change and progress.
  • Promote positive behaviour among our pupils and aim to “catch them being good”!
  • Embody the Presentation ethos.

I would like to pay tribute to the immense support the school receives from the Board of Management, the Parents’ Council and the wider school community.
I am passionate about Scoil Mhuire gan Smál. It is a wonderful institution with a proud tradition. I am totally committed to its future and aim to create a school environment of the highest order where people are cherished, education is valued, learning is encouraged and success is planned for, achieved and celebrated.
Presentation schools are associated with excellence and Scoil Mhuire gan Smál is no exception. It is my intention to continue to promote the Presentation ethos of pursuing excellence in education while caring for the needy and the vulnerable in our midst.
Finally, I regard myself as being privileged to have been appointed Principal of Scoil Mhuire gan Smál. I aim to work in the best interests of the school and all associated with it, promoting a philosophy based on TRADITION and VISION. My hope for the pupils in my care is that they will BELIEVE and ACHIEVE!
I welcome you and your daughter to Scoil Mhuire gan Smál. I hope it is the beginning of a positive and mutually beneficial relationship with our school and I look forward to working with you in the years ahead.
